About Us
We make things plants deserve.
A small studio in Freiburg, Germany. One obsession: designing plant accessories that are actually worth owning.
It started with a Monstera that wouldn't cooperate.
The bamboo stick kept falling over. The coconut coir pole looked like garden-centre junk from 2003. Everything on the market was either ugly, flimsy, or both — and none of it let aerial roots actually attach.
We had a 3D printer, a pile of PLA+ filament, and a weekend with nothing else planned. Three prototypes later, we had something that worked — and looked like it belonged next to the plant.
Friends asked for one. Then friends of friends. Then someone in Hamburg asked if we shipped. We said yes, figured out the packaging, and Moss & Form was a business.
That was two years ago. We still print every order ourselves, still QC every piece by hand, and still refuse to ship something we wouldn't keep.
What matters to us
01
Design that earns its place
A moss pole lives in your living room for years. It should look like it was meant to be there — not like a compromise. We spend a lot of time on proportions, surface texture, and finish.
02
Function first, always
Pretty useless is still useless. Every design decision — lattice density, diameter, connector geometry — is tested against real plant behaviour before it ships.
03
Small by choice
We're not trying to scale this into a factory operation. Staying small means every order gets real attention, and we can make things a large operation never could.
04
Materials we can stand behind
PLA+ from traceable sources. Recycled cardboard packaging. No virgin plastic in the box. The full picture is on our Sustainability page if you want the details.
05
Honest about what we are
We're two people with 3D printers and too many plants. Not a lifestyle brand, not a startup with investors. Just people making things and selling them directly.
06
Custom work, when it fits
Non-standard sizes, unusual colours, prototype runs for other makers — we like interesting problems. If you have one, get in touch.
The name
"Moss & Form" — the organic and the designed. The living thing and the object that serves it.
It's a nod to Louis Sullivan's principle — form follows function. In our case, form follows growth. The plant defines what the pole needs to be.
Based in Freiburg
Freiburg is a small city at the edge of the Black Forest — sunny, bike-friendly, and slightly obsessed with sustainability. It suits us.
Everything is made here. The printer is in the same room as the plants we're designing for. There's no warehouse, no third-party fulfillment, no surprise: when you order from us, one of us handles your order from first layer to letterbox.
Orders ship within 3–5 business days via DHL, tracked. We ship across Germany and to most of Europe. Ask about other destinations.
